The Nice Guy follows Daisy, whose botched haircut at the beginning of her freshman year of high school becomes a relentless reminder she doesn’t belong when all she wants is to fit in or, at the very least, blend into the background. To make matters worse, Daisy’s competitive spirit spurs her on to challenge the most popular girl in school for first chair in the saxophone section. Her ambition ignores the repercussions of her decision, effectively pinning a target on her own back. Spoiler alert: Daisy wins.

As Daisy enters her sophomore year and her pixie cut starts to grow out, feelings for her long-time crush and academic rival, Jordan, conflict with her burgeoning affection for a new friend, slow-burn Bennett. But being with Bennett means dating a freshman, which reeks of utter desperation. Daisy’s decision to date Bennett could make her even more of an outcast.
